This stunning and rare hanging Lithographic Advertising Sign was issu. By the NATIONAL CIGARETTE & TOBACCO Co. To advertise their brand of ADMIRAL Tobacco and Cigarettes during 1890's. As number H585 in Burdick's American Card Catalogue. Page 206 of the World Trade Index Part three, list 10 different ads in the series which they describe as SAILOR GIRLS in tights. I actually speculate that these were a companion issue to the N388 National Types Series of card issued by the same company, that featured beautiful women many of which were in naval uniforms of their respective countries. The front of this card features a beautiful young Victorian lady dress. In a very revealing NAVAL UNIFORM vintage erotica? She is raising the American Stars and Stripes Flag. The card sign featuring it's original metal grommet from which is was design. The back of the card is blank as issu. The Lithography for the card is exceptional, and was done by the Lithographer SACKETT & WILHELMS LITHO CO.

The Card measures just over 8 inches by 6 inches approximately.. The card has some creasing, wear, and a very small edge tear at the front, left, veticle edge. However it features strong color and much of it's original gloss and displays very well. The card fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself.

These ad cards are rare. They were given to store owners to display in their stores, to help generate Tobacco sales. Most were thrown away after use, and not many surviv. The past 120 years of wear and tear. This card would make an excellent display piece for anyone interest.

In NAVAL or NAUTICAL History. Just imagine this beauty nicely matt. Don't miss out on this over 120 year old piece (a true American antique). Where else can you get such a beautiful Victorian NAUTICAL THEMED Lithograph of this age and quality, this inexpensive? I will be trying to list several EARLY TRADE & TYPE CARDS over the next few days.

(spread across different categories), including one or two that are unrecorded in any guide, that were put given away with Tobacco, Cigarettes, Caramel, Candy, Gum, Chocolate, Bread Coffee Tea Cereal and other products, covering such diverse subjects as Native American Indians, Baseball, Football, Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey, Golf, Presidents of the United States, NCAA and IVY League Colleges and Universities, Dog Breeds and Circus themes and many many more. It will take you directly to them.
